New 3D electrode solutions for alkaline electrolyzers by additive manufacturing

New 3D electrode solutions for alkaline electrolyzers by additive manufacturing

Goals

Design, production and validation of 3-D electrodes with polarization curves in alkaline media similar to those for PEM electrolyzers (< 2 V at 2 A/cm²).

Innovations

While most current research efforts to improve the performance of alkaline electrolyzers focus on the development of new electro-catalytic materials, the innovative approach of the project is to find new solutions in terms of the 3-D structuring of electrodes, combining high specific surface area with improved gas evacuation efficiency.
